Northville is a small city in Michigan positioned in Oakland and Wayne counties. The city is a suburb of Detroit, located almost 30 miles northwest of downtown Detroit and 21 miles northeast of Ann Arbor. According to the 2016 United States Census Bureau report, Northville had a population of approximately 5,979 people.

Northville is in an area of Michigan once inhabited by Native American Indians. Eventually, individuals of European descent arrived in the area and established homes and businesses. Soon after the community was established, a post office, doctors offices, and taverns opened in Northville. In 1955, Northville became an incorporated municipality.
